Prezi: Rocket BuildingFor one of our assignments we were to create a presentation that depicted the lesson we were top teach. For example, a trending topic was the Black Plague, but I wanted to stick with rocket constructing. Rockets have fascinated me for a while, simply because of the mechanics used inside of it. The types of materials vary from the type of rocket, For a model rocket, you might need some wadding paper, sand paper, wooden fins, etc. The sand paper is used to sand down the wooden fins to create their shape. For a water rocket, you would probably need a soda bottle, clay, tape, and paper or cardboard for the fins.
"What is a rocket?" A rocket is a mechanical object that is programed to fly at some extent or length. Some rockets are programmed to even take people to the moon and back, without harming them. That is the great and final power of a rocket. I finally decided to use a Prezi form this slide show, simply because of the neat techniques incorporated within the Prezi. Prezi has the ability to embed pictures, sound, and other types of themes to it. Using Prezi was a great experience for me, as I was able to use something I haven't used before. |
Multimedia Project
The main purpose for the Multimedia project, was to simply teach the people that were looking, a lesson. Some individuals thought that the Black Plague would be a nice topic, but I wanted to use a different approach. Instead of using the Black Death, I decided to do Rocket building. Rocketry might phase others as a hard and difficult subject to do, but I find it completely relevant to education, especially if you are taking the course at the moment. Some thought and concentration has to go into rocket building, just like any other subject. The main point of building a rocket is to question, what is my data telling m. The data may vary from each type of rocket you can construct. For example, if you were to construct a water rocket, you could ask "What was the time from launch to the time it cam down?" Or for the model rocket, you could ask, "How far up did it go?" You could use several types of trials to complete this. For one, taking a tennis ball, and tossing it into the air might be a start. You could get some type of knowledge of how far up it went by using a specific formula to figure it out. Making sure the formula is correct might help out a bit too.

The type of multimedia tool is used for this project was Glogster, I believed that Glogster was the most accurate way of showing my presentation. You could add some text, pictures, and other side notes that adjust to your liking. The Glogster shouldn't contain too many writing particles, but just enough to explain what your lesson is.

What is a Rocket? (Quiz)
To test other individuals knowledge about the lesson you have taught in your multimedia project, you need to create a Google form. A Google form is yet another type of tool you can use to describe your lesson. The quiz that you create should have three main slots on it. The first one will give you the option to choose which period you have computers. The second slot will be a text box, where you can insert your first name into. The following text box is there so you can input your last name. Entering in this information is especially important for the person who is displaying this quiz, as they will know who took their test, and what time they took it. When creating your quiz, if you would like to give someone your link to it, make sure it's the overview of the test, and not the editing page. If you happen to give someone the editing page, then they will have access to editing your quiz. The quiz that you have created should display a few questions that should have to do WITH your lesson. A question that might have nothing to do with what your trying to teach, should not be on the quiz at all. Creating the actual questions is the next part in the Google form process. The questions should make sense to the reader, and not cause any confusion. For example, if you were to topic on the Black Death, you question could be similar to; What caused the Black Death? Or, Where did the Black Death originate from?

The Typing Test
To put our typing skills to the test, we had to take a typing test. The typing test consisted of a series of letters, and numbers, and we had to simply type them in as they go. This test, to be exact, isn't merely a test where you study for it and get a good grade, but instead something you can practice over and over again. To certify that you have taken this test, and not bluffed, you must take a screen shot of it, and post it onto this Digital Portfolio. On the certificate, there are several things printed. First there is your name, then the type of typing you test you took. There are several types of test such as the full key test, or a portion of the keyboard. Next, you can chose how long you want your test to be, before time is up. The minute speed calculates how many words you type in that set if time, and averages it. Our goal was to get above 25 words per minute. Finally, the last bit signifies how many mistakes you made while typing. There is, however, no mistakes made when I typed, or so I thought.
This typing test not only put our typing to the "test", but also, to fix the mistakes that we previously made. If we continue to practice our typing regularly, then improvements will be visible.

My Digital Life Ignition
Throughout My digital Life, you will learn the importance of keeping safe and organized on the internet. This website has seven modules that you can complete and take a quiz on. Your score on the quiz reflects on how well you did on the module. If you receive a low score on a module, you can always go back and re-do that module. The first module talks about choosing a computer, and how to do so. You want to make sure that the computer, laptop, or tablet fits your needs without over exceeding. If you want a laptop for school, you should always make sure that it is portable and fast. The second module is about wireless communications. Servers, and connection speed is practically what this module is talking about. In crowded areas, you might not get as much connection. The other modules cover: the viral world, credibility on other sites, creating multimedia projects, respect and relationships online, and the future of technology.
Ignition has taught me more than I can comprehend. This was an excellent way to learn the ways of the computer, and the responsibility needed to own a computer.
